Six candidates are now officially in the running to become the next MSP for the Western Isles.
Nominations closed at 4pm today (Wednesday), confirming who’ll be on the ballot for the upcoming Scottish Parliament election.
Here’s the full list of hopefuls putting their names forward for the Western Isles seat:
- Alasdair Allan – Scottish National Party
- Jamie Dobson – Scottish Liberal Democrats
- Kenny Mackenzie – Alliance to Liberate Scotland and Sovereignty
- Donald Mackinnon – Scottish Labour Party
- George Macpherson – Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party
- Malcolm McTaggart – Reform UK
Voters will head to the polls on Thursday 7 May 2026, with polling stations open from 7am to 10pm.
