Berneray Week is back for 2026, and it’s a cracker of a line-up. Nine days of ceilidhs, beach barbecues, boat trips, sports on the machair and a good deal more besides. Here’s everything that’s on.
A few things worth knowing before you start: events are at Berneray Community Hall unless it says otherwise, our events aren’t licensed so please bring your own alcohol, and it’s cash only throughout.
Friday 17 July
- 9pm – Ceilidh Dance with Iain Angus MacLeod & Band. Adults £10, U16s £5, U10s free
Saturday 18 July
- From 10am – 40th Anniversary Boat Trip to Pabbay. £50, advance booking required (see separate publicity for details, contact 07818 434 671)
- 7.30pm – Traditional Concert with local artists, MC Roddy Shaw. Adults £10, U16s £5, U10s free
Monday 20 July
- 2pm – From Land to Sea in Fibre: felt or crochet local fleece into sea creatures. £10, advance booking required (contact 07788 450 919)
- 9pm – Ceilidh Dance with Alex MacDonald & Band. Adults £10, U16s £5, U10s free
Tuesday 21 July
- 12pm – Table Top Sale with BBQ & café
- 1pm – Sports Day on the machair. £5, U10s free
- 7.30pm – “Berneray Boats and Barges c. 1900”, a talk by Liam Crouse. Donations
Wednesday 22 July
- 1pm – Sandcastle Competition on West Beach. Donations
- 7pm – Beach BBQ on East Beach. £10
Thursday 23 July
- 7.30pm – Quiz Night. £5, U10s free
Friday 24 July
- 1pm – It’s a Knockout, team games on Borve machair. £4
- 9pm – Ceilidh Dance with Monach Isles Ceilidh Band. Adults £10, U16s £5, U10s free
Saturday 25 July
- 11am – Berneray 10k Run/Walk. £15
- 7.30pm – Skittles Competition. £3, U10s free
