Lovats supermarkets for sale

Lovats supermarkets in Carnan and Balivanich have been put on the market.

Run by the Hogg family of Iochdar, the shops are advertised online for £840,000. The website promoting the sale notes that the business currently turns over more than £1.5 million annually with potential for further development on both sites.

The Hogg family purchased the shop in Carnan in 1987. They acquired the former Naafi store in the centre of Balivanich in 2006.

Trading independently, in recent years both supermarkets started offering Post Office services for their local districts. The importance of Post Office services has increased with the announcement that the Bank of Scotland branch in Balivanich is set to close.

The listing for the sale of the Lovats supermarkets states: “The businesses are only fifteen minutes apart so complement each other operationally and can be managed accordingly.”

Lovats supermarkets employ a significant number of people and provide vital choice in goods and services to consumers.
